Benefits of Boot Camp

February 8th, 2012

If you have been wanting to take your fitness to the next level you may have considered joining a boot camp. Boot camps are a great way to get in shape fast and have many benefits for your overall health. You don’t have to be in the army or be in great shape to attend these classes; whether you install coat hooks for schools all day or teach astrophysics, there is a boot camp out there for you. Here are some reasons why you may want to start attending a fitness boot camp this year.

Boot camps are highly motivating because they are a specific commitment to working out at a certain time and place. It may be easy to blow off a gym session or put it off until later, but when you have booked a spot in a boot camp you are more likely to attend. They are also motivational because they allow you to work out with other people and also with a qualified trainer there to push you hard. You could even try bringing a friend with you to boot camp to make sure that you both stay on track and to add a social element to your workout.
Another benefit of boot camps is that they tend to give you results much faster than a standard gym routine. They are varied and tough, working lots of different muscles groups in just one session. Boot camps are also designed to burn lots of calories, so if you commit to doing the exercises properly you could see yourself losing weight in no time.

Finally, boot camps are much more cost effective than other exercise methods such as hiring a personal trainer. Personal trainers are incredibly pricy, but by taking a boot camp you are essentially splitting the cost with all the other people there, but still reaping the benefits. You may also find that attending a boot camp is cheaper than joining a local gym, especially if you live in a city center. Alternating jogging, biking and boot camp classes may be enough of a work out that you can forego the gym altogether.

Basically, boot camps have many benefits and are a great way to get in shape, so if you are interested in joining one simply look online for classes being conducted in your local area.
